2024-2025 Supreme Court Fellows


Elizabeth Adler
ELIZABETH C. ADLER is the 2024-2025 Fellow assigned to the United States Sentencing Commission, the agency responsible for the establishment of sentencing policies and practices for the federal courts. Ms. Adler joins the Supreme Court Fellows Program from the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, where she clerked for the Honorable Eric L. Clay. She was previously in private practice in Washington, D.C. Ms. Adler earned both a B.A., with honors, in Leadership and Public Policy, and a J.D. from the University of Virginia, where she served as the online development editor of the Virginia Law Review.

Joshua Blecher-Cohen
JOSHUA D. BLECHER-COHEN is the 2024-2025 Fellow assigned to the Supreme Court of the United States, where he will serve in the Office of the Counselor to the Chief Justice. Mr. Blecher-Cohen joins the Supreme Court Fellows Program from the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, where he clerked for the Honorable Marsha S. Berzon. He previously clerked for the Honorable Myron H. Thompson of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. He was also a Scholar-in-Residence at the Law Library of Congress and a public interest lawyer. Mr. Blecher-Cohen earned an A.B., magna cum laude, in Philosophy and Classics from Harvard College, an M.St., with distinction, in Ancient Philosophy from the University of Oxford, and a J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was managing editor of the Yale Law Journal.

HopeForsyth
HOPE FORSYTH is the 2024-2025 Fellow assigned to the Administrative Office of the United States Courts, the central support entity for the Judicial Branch. Ms. Forsyth joins the Supreme Court Fellows Program from the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Oklahoma, where she clerked for the Honorable John F. Heil, III. She was previously in private practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ms. Forsyth earned both a B.A., magna cum laude, in Communication in the Honors Program, and a J.D. from the University of Tulsa, where she was executive editor of the Tulsa Law Review, and a LL.M. from Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law.

Samantha Smith
SAMANTHA C. SMITH is the 2024-2025 Fellow assigned to the Federal Judicial Center, the education and research agency for the federal courts. Ms. Smith joins the Supreme Court Fellows Program from the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, where she clerked for the Honorable Eli J. Richardson. She was previously in private practice in Washington, D.C. Ms. Smith earned both a B.A., cum laude, in Economics & History and Bioethics & Organizational Leadership in the Honors Program, and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University, where she was editor in chief of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law.
